The thought of leaving my family for 4 whole days sent me into a total spin
what will they eat
will Ewan dress them appropriately
will they bathe at all
will Ewan let the boys into his bed at 2am if I'm not there
what will the house look like when I return
But lets be honest my main concern was that
I WILL MISS THEM
I'm such a home body.
I love my family.
I love being around them.
I love hearing the boys shout with joy after they have completed a game of Buzz.
I love watching Rowan set up his Thomas trains and hearing him act out situations with them.
I love Ailish asking me if her and I could just watch a movie together.
I love Callum's funny little facial expressions when he's asking for something that he's not sure I'll let him have.
I love knowing that Ewan is around and not at some meeting.
I'll find any excuse just to stay home and hang out with Ewan and the kids, especially during winter.
But I bit the bullet and did go away with the 7 women from my bookclub.

I'm glad I did, we had a great time. For once in most of our lives we were responsible just for ourselves.
No children, no husband, no washing, no cleaning.
No children, no husband, no washing, no cleaning.
Our time was our own, and we made sure we made the most of it by doing absolutely nothing.
We talked, laughed, read, watched dvd's, played a few games but most importantly we relaxed and connected.

Thanks Shelley for organising this. Only you could bring a group of women who are at different places in their lives together and really enjoy each other's company.
