Everday after school, while driving home, I ask the same probing questions - "what did you do today?" "what was your favourite part of the day?" "what didn't you like about today" - and just to check out what's happening in the friendship department I ask "so, what did you do at recess and lunch time?"
Most of the time I get tiny pieces of information like....i didn't do anything today, just stuff, i can't remember it was such a long time ago....very informative information....NOT.
But yesterday was different. This was my conversation with Rowan.....
So, what did you do today?
Nothing (sigh)
Oh, that's no good. Why was that?
My best friend wasn't their today. (sigh)
Oh, Sophie wasn't at school today, I hope she's ok?
I love her (said with such sweetness that you know he means it)
(Ailish and I turn to each other and give each other a look that says aww isn't that so cute)
That's nice, why do you love her?
I just love her
It doesn't get much cuter than this, does it?

Totally cute :)
i remember liam would look at his first love...he was around 4 or 5...and sigh, "i just love the way she is." you could just feel the love...it came from his entire soul...so when he would sometimes tell me, "mum, i just love the way you are" instead of the usual "i love you!" i felt honored to be in such company.
there's nothing quite like first love...
he is so cute!
you have the most adorable kids on the planet- must be because they have an adorable mum!
