Bedtime is not for the faint hearted

So each evening the routine is pretty much the same ~
dinner, maybe a bath if I can't stand the odors anymore, pj's, story, drink, toilet, goodnight.

Guaranteed within minutes the boys will be up advising that they need to do a poo, (I'm sure there's a study in the control of the human body in there somewhere).

So with that over and tucked back into bed with a kiss and a cuddle I start to relax only to hear giggles and laughter, so back in I march and with threatening tones I warn that I'll take away this toy or that game playing time if I hear them again.

I'm back in their bedroom another 4 or 5 times and each time I leave in the hope that they have taken my warnings seriously and that sleep will overtake their tired bodies.

Finally, nestled on the couch relaxed and totally engrossed in some time-wasting, mind-numbing, entertaining TV programme I see out the corner of my eye a little shadow and then a little face with a cheeky look I'm out of bed what are you going to do about it grin on it. I'm annoyed now.

I'm annoyed that I have to get up. I'm annoyed that this may be about the 5th or 6th time they've been told to go to sleep. I'm annoyed because I know if they don't go to sleep now I'll be paying for it in the morning. I'm annoyed that this happens just about every evening.

But luckily, when I drag my tired body to bed and go to sleep, that evenings dramas are forgotten until the next evenings bedtime tousle.

Those type of bedtimes are the worst. I don't know what I'm going to do when Reef and Oz are in the same room!!! AHHHH!
