Up, up and away

Yesterday morning she left for Perth to emerse herself in all things Grandma. And to catch up with family and cousins that she doesn't get to see thanks to the fact that Ewan's family is spread from one side of Australia to the other (east to west).

She was on the first flight to Perth which meant leaving the house a 5am. I made a grand gesture and "offered" Ewan the opportunity to spend some time with her and take her to the airport. Downside to this was that I have no pictures capturing how absolutely excited she was about flying solo.

On her touchdown in Perth Grandma (Dorian) welcomed her and had arranged a welcoming party consisting of her cousins (Millie, Caitlin and Duncan)

For two weeks she will be missed but the house will be quiet (well, as quiet as it can be with a house full of boys) without my little mother duck around.

Since posting this entry I received pics from Dorian. Looks like she's not missing us one bit.

What a big moment for you all, it sounds like she'll really enjoy herself though. Have fun with the boys!

i feel your pain. 2 weeks without your 8 year old is the equivelent of 5 weeks without your 18 year old. her face will be all the more beautiful on her return, and her kisses that much sweeter.

love to all...

I love the effects on your pictures. She will have a blast. It really is the most amazing thing to be able to connect with relatives and spend time with them.
Miss you
Caitlin
