Ailish, who will turn 8 in May, Rowan and Callum, 4.

Our family started with Ailish, and then when she was about 3 we decided we would add just one more to our family and then that would be it. Nothing is just that simple. When I was pregnant with the boys (although prior to this moment I didn't know that it would be plural) I had my first appointment with my ob/gyn at 8wks. I joked with him about the fact that two of my girlfriends had naturally conceived twins for their second pregnancy and wouldn't that just be out of this world if I was carrying twins. The odds of this happening were against me so I thought I was pretty safe. Just when you think you are in the clear Heavenly Father throws a curve ball. The doctor found two heart beats and I left his surgery, got in my car and drove in the rain, in tears, to Ewan's work to advise him of this amazing news.

The boys are identical, but they do have features that are unique to themselves. Rowan is the oldest by 1 minute but Callum is taller by about 1inch. Rowan has a button for a nose and Callum has a freckle on his right ear. To help others recognise them they have different haircuts, Rowan long, Callum short.

Ailish is the mother. At every opportunity to likes to inform the boys of the things they are doing wrong and she is always changing the rules of any game they are playing (this she gets from me - just ask my siblings). She does a number of activities - piano, swimming, school choir, ballet/tap dancing. Her every moment is jammed pack but if I dare suggest that she drops something she always has something she wants to do in its place.

I love them all dearly -there are no words that can express the way I feel about them.
