Today we headed back to the furniture store to finalise the stuff for the house. The store is probably the size of a Harvey Norman's but just has furniture and a carpet section. So while we were with the sales guy the kids free ranged around the store. The store was not busy so I felt pretty comfortable letting them roam, let's face it, only crazy people shop when it's minus 3 degrees C!!!
After a while Rowan wandered up to me without his jacket...his snow jacket...remember its minus 3...so immediately I was "so where's your jacket?" and he's all "i don't know!!" and I'm "where did you take it off ?" and in true Rowan style he's completely defensive and says that he didn't put it anywhere. So immediately we all start searching the store for his bright blue jacket. We searched hi and lo and kept asking him where did he go, did he put it in a draw or did he climb under something, and each time the answer was no.
For a good 20 minutes we searched and by then Ewan and I were totally over it. Ewan asked if he even had his jacket on when he came into the store and I was pretty certain he did but Ewan decided to have a look in the car........
Yep, after 20 minutes of searching and roping in shop assistance to help, Ewan came back inside and by the look on his face I just knew that the jacket was in the car. Foolishly I just told the assistance that we had found the jacket and when they asked where I cowardly answered it was tucked away somewhere!!
So we wrapped up our business in the furniture store and headed to Bed, Bath and Beyond.....3 shopping trolleys later (pillows and quilts take up a lot of room), we headed to Target were some nice people explained the difference between a comforter and a duvet..............who knew we had to learn another language.
Lastly, and best of all, we picked up my car. What we thought was going to be a quick exchange of cheque for keys turned into an hour long meet and greet with the service manager and then a total run down on the cars features.
So all in all a pretty productive day that ended with ribs and some trashy US tv......love it!
I know you want photos but I have to wait until the computer and stuff arrive so thanks for reading and hang in there, they'll come, I promise.

Nice to know that even in the US you can spend way too much time searching for something that is in the car. On Sunday we were searching for lolly at harvey Norman only to discover that she had made her way back NEAR the exit. Only a fool and someone who lacks babysitters takes kids shopping!!!
So what is the difference between a comforter and a duvet- I never know when I shop online at US stores and am scared to order anything. Glad that you had the jacket!! :)
Talking about speaking the same language reminded me that I tried to bake cookies and the recipe said shortening and when I asked the girl in the shop what that was she said Crisco!!!! I just stood and cried I was so homesick and nobody said a thing I could understand. Famous last words...At least you are going to a country where they speak English!!!! Don't bet on it. Lol
i still get my australian and american words mixed up sometimes. just the other day i was explaining to someone, something about our "windscreen" - the conversation went much more smoothly when they realized i was talking about the "windshield".
(i missed this post earlier!)
