Anzac Weekend

Australia is the land of the public holiday and for some reason most of them are packed into the first 4 months of the year.

With the next one in June we decided to cram in a little day trip in the Adelaide Hills today.

Warning - many photos to follow, I just couldn't help myself.

Our first destination was the Whispering Wall at Williamstown. The wall is actually a large retaining wall for the Barossa Reservoir with amazing acoustic's

Luckily for us, we arrived just as a load of tourists were getting into their tour bus.

Ailish & Callum stayed here while Rowan & I walked to the otherside of the reservoir.

Rowan talking to Ailish & Callum......

Who were over there......pretty amazing!!

Next stop was the Giant Rocking Horse at Gumeracha.

Standing at a lofty 18 metres high it's pretty hard to miss. To reach the top you need to climb a number of ladders which can be a little daunting but the view is definitely worth the climb.

Last stop was Melba's Chocolate Factory at Woodside. Make sure you bring your sweet tooth and an empty stomach.

And if those sights weren't enough, the Autumn colours in the Adelaide Hills is all the excuse you need to get in the car and head for the hills.

Red, yellow, orange and green all set against the blue of the sky.

These kinds of views I will never tire of.

And just for fun........ The boys spent a lot of Sunday afternoon in front of the Mac (Yes, I've got an iMac and I couldn't be happier ~ I'm in love with it and so are the kids) taking photos and making little movies of themselves just like this one.......

that video is hilarious, again with Hey Soul Sister!!! & I love Callums intense look out the front of Melba's. I definitely think the diggers would approve of how you spent their day :)

Not their day that was sunday it was their public holiday.
That video is hilarious. I had the sound off at first and I giggled loudest when 'Iron man' sucked Callum into his vortex.
