When I chose the book at the beginning of the year I didn't know a lot about it. I knew the basic premise of it ~
- Randy has terminal cancer and is given the opportunity to present a last lecture
- And I knew that he had recently passed away.
What I didn't know ~
- He suffered from the same cancer that my Nana did
- What an uplifting book it would be
I'm not into self help books - I've never read ANY of the Chicken Soup guides (there are many) - I'm not interested in reading The Secret (which by now is surely not a secret) ~ I will confess to reading The 7 Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families.
But this is NOT one of those books.
It's a series of Randy's thoughts/stories/experiences about overcoming trials, assisting others, having dreams and realising them, and living the best life possible, no matter how long or short it may be.
Randy is definately a glass half full kind of guy, and you cannot help but catch onto his vision.
The book contains many lighthearted, funny moments but you will need a box of tissues within reaching distance for those moments when he talks about his 3 beautiful children and his wife.
Reading this book made me want to be a better person, wife and mother.
Do yourself a favour pick it up and read it, then pass it on and have your friends and family read it.
You'll have to read it just to understand the title of this post
