Growing pains

Last night around 10pm Rowan literally came crawling out of his room in tears. On investigating he revealed that his legs were really sore....growing pains.

He could barely walk and was in very noticeable pain, so I dosed him up with childrens Nurofen and tucked him into bed with a warm hot water bottle, hoping that the combination of drugs and the warmth from the water bottle would quickly alleviate his pain so that he could go back to sleep. It did.

At about 12:30am a voice coming from my side of the bed was crying out in distress and saying his legs were broken. Being groggy from sleep I assumed it was Rowan and tucked him into bed with myself.

After a few minutes of him tossing, turning and wriggling around next to me I did a little further investigating and realised that it was Callum. Instantly I scoop him up, gave him a dose of drugs and tucked him into bed with the water bottle borrowed from a now sleeping Rowan.

I don't really believe in the twin thing myth (the myth that says that they have their own language and do certain things at the same time) but boy, what a coincidence that both boys on the same evening suffered from the same excruciating pains in their legs.

I remember as a child suffering from the same excruciating, achy pains in my legs. I guess it was bound to happen to one of my children...but both boys on the same night...that's very eerie.

Oh I remember growing pains!!! They are the worst and seem to only come in the middle of the night. That does stink that both your boys got them at the EXACT same time! Fun to have twins!

I thought you were going to say the second one was Ewan phew !!! My poor little darlings. Funnily enough you were the only one of the children that suffered so badly from growing pains in your back and legs.

I remember growing pains. I had them a lot as you can imagine someone that is 2 metres tall would. Mainly felt it when I was sitting there at church.

i never had then but my Eli gets them most terribly. i have often wondered why he feels them and my girls don't seem to. It's such a heartache when our children are in pain and we haven't a cure. Medicine and warmth have always worked in our house too but i cannot seem to notice any connection to daily activity or anything else to prevent them.
