Memorial Weekend

We headed to Minneapolis this past weekend.....destination.....Mall of America!

It's Westfield Marion on serious steroids.

What initially drew us there was the Princess Diana exhibit.  It's the same exhibit that I took the kids too see about this time last year, but in Kansas City.  I knew this was something Dorian, being such a Royalist, would really enjoy.  So on arriving in Minneapolis, Dorian, Ailish and I headed headed straight to the exhibit.

The exhibit took us through her life, but it's her humongous, meringue wedding dress and her gowns that we enjoyed viewing the most.

The other two major attractions in the Mall was the Nickelodeon theme park ......

And the Sea Life tunnel......

We did do a bit of shopping.  We walked that Mall twice over looking for bathers that were appropriate for a 12 year old...not an easy task!  The boys added to their every expanding Lego collection.  I bought a pair of ballet flats and Ewan bought a suit and stocked up on shirts at Nordstrom's.

All in all a pretty successful weekend.  There was something for all ages to enjoy....from 8 year olds to 70 year olds....the Mall covered it all.

Travelling home we made a few stops so that I could take a few pics.

Towering grain storages along the railway tracks....cute church....and of course barns.

I didn't take my big camera along with us this weekend so my point & shoot and phone camera's did a good job of documenting a fun weekend.
