Crashed

No one has been in a car accident...everyone's fine and well...sorry to those that I initially worried.

Just about, and I know there are far more worse scenarios, but today just about the worse thing that could happen did happen.....my worst fears were realized when the computer technician told me that they couldn't recover anything!!!!!

My hard drive crashed and pretty much permanently trashed all my memories dating back some years.

The sense of loosing precious photos and movies of our family brings me to tears just thinking about it.

I did back up a lot of my photos but the last 3 months are gone (those photos in my header....gone) And my video footage I'm not sure about.

The hard drive is on it's way to California. A company there specialises in retrieving data from dead hardrives and they will evaluate it to see if it's at all possible to restore any, some or all the images from it. But of course, like anything, there is a cost going forward, quoted $700 -$2,500.......yikes!

Crossing fingers and toes they can do something and that the cost is at the lower end of the quoted cost.

Silver lining, if there is one, I have a brand new hard drive (covered under warranty) with updated operating software....saved me $35! And luckily, when we moved, we brought the additional software discs with us....saved $$$$$$
