Each year the school dedicates a week to books and reading.
Throughout the week they have activities organised around the fun you can have with books.
They have a book fair where you can purchase books and have authors come into the school to talk with the kids.
But the one activity the kids really look forward to, but every parent dreads, is the book week parade.
Here they can dress up as their favourite character from a book, which inevitably means I'm madly sewing something at the very last minute.
This year the kids picked their characters, with a little guidance from me, and luckily no sewing was involved. In fact we had everything we needed right in the kids closets - I'm sure next year I'm not going to be quite so lucky.

I remember you talking about this last year, it's such a great idea! What kinds of activities do the kids do? I would love to do this at my school!
