For my Aunt & Uncle this was the 5th daughter to get married and the 5th reception held in their home.
There's something intimate about holding a reception at home. No table settings to arrange, families & friends can mingle freely, the Bride & Groom can easily get around and speak with everyone, people can quickly make room for an impromptu Haka!! - that's right the traditional Maori dance.
There was an audible gasp of excitment when at the conclusion of Regan's dad speech he announced that his family members would preform the Haka to celebrate the joining of the two families.
It was AMAZING!
There are no words to describe the electricity in the air as they performed.
The passion with which they performed the dance was obvious.
This was definately a highlight of the reception, along with Ellen serenading her new husband and her new groom answering back with a song of his own.
Man-o-man are their kids going to be uber talented.
Congratulations Ellen & Regan, may you always have a song in your hearts for each other.

Yes emotions ran high as the dance proceeded but when Regan's Aunt joined in ( she was sitting right next to us) ... phew it was just electrifying. But the whole wedding had a beautiful friendly and relaxed feel. I'm sure that Christina had and underlying feeling of organisation but she didn't show it. Love shelley

And when Regan's Aunt joined in with chanting the Haka...Phew it was emotional and heart racing. A day that Ellen and Regan can treasure forever all round.
